Canal Days 2018

Ahoy! Sid Grabell contracting had all hands on deck for the Canal Days setup in Port Colbourne. We set up the electrical outlets for vendors to plug in their booths as well as the power supply for the stages. Our team will be manning the rails all weekend to keep the power running and ensure no man goes overboard!

Take Us Out To The Ball Game!

Take us out to the ball game! Cleat is up in our Double Bucket International Truck changing light bulbs. Sid Grabell Contracting changed out 14 light bulbs in various baseball parks over the last 2 weeks. We will also be changing an additional 45 lights out within the next month. Batter up!

New Hydro Poles

Sid Grabell Contacting replaced 2 hydro poles for a customer. The first pole was complex as the pole needed to be lifted between two conductors. Marty is the ground guy monitoring the pole as it is being lifted with our Digger Derrek Truck with Tracy at the Controls. Sid is in our Single bucket truck monitoring the placement between the poles.

Motor Control Center

Andy installed a bucket into a warehouse Motor Control Center for a customer. Safety is Sid Grabell Contracting’s number one priority when completing any job. This type of work requires specialized personal protective equipment that includes an arc flash suit, specialized head covering, hard hat, full face cover and gloves. Safety- It’s a full time job


Sid Grabell Contracting was in full force this Victoria Day Weekend. SGC was on site locally and up north for planned outages on 2 different sites. Team 1 completed substation maintenance, removing old insulators, cleaning existing insulators, general maintenance and vegetation removal. Team 2 installed Cogen cable for a 3-megawatt demand response system that lowers power consumption during peak hours.

Hydro Excavation

Members of SGC’s team were camping up north for a campground/RV resort customer. Our team spent the week Hydro Excavating to expose underground utilities and direction boring to install over 1500 feet of conduit pipe! Next they will begin running wire through the conduit….stay tuned for updates!
