We were contracted by the Niagara Region to enhance pedestrian safety with the installation of a new crosswalk on Main Street, directly in front of the newly built West Niagara Secondary School. This busy road required a comprehensive approach to ensure both safety and functionality for students and the community.
Our work included grading and removing dirt from both sides of the road to prepare the area. We poured new concrete sidewalks and bases, followed by the installation of steel sectional poles on the newly poured bases to support traffic signals. To ensure reliable power, we installed URD boxes and pulled cable to connect the infrastructure.
In addition, our team performed line painting on the roadway to clearly mark the crosswalk, enhancing visibility for drivers and pedestrians alike. Finally, we completed the project with full restoration, including the installation of fresh sod, ensuring the area was left clean and accessible.
